Scott Corwon

Principal behind IMPRIMATUR — the supervisory-control and assurance architecture for autonomous systems. He commands the boundary between autonomous decision and lasting consequence.

(U)§ 01THE MANDATE
PRINCIPAL · IMPACTS R&D

Build the instruments that should exist — and make sure they can be trusted.

Scott Corwon founded IMPACTS Research & Development in 2005 to build quiet instruments for high-consequence environments. The throughline of the work is a single conviction: authority over a physical action must be earned at the moment of use, never assumed from a plan, a signature, or a prior state.

IMPRIMATUR is the current expression of that conviction — a hardware-rooted architecture (MRCAL) that lets advanced autonomy be fielded without surrendering control over what it does. The method is the discipline itself: nothing is trusted that is not measured, bounded, attested, and revocable.

“We forge where no path exists, bound to solutions that dare not yield an inch to chaos.”

(U)§ 02THE RECORD
CONTROLLED

The public record is intentionally limited.

Affiliations, prior programs, and current engagements are held under the same controls as the work itself. What can be released is released; the rest is discussed under appropriate authority.
